Highlights

 

Najpiękniejsze chóry i arie operowe (2006 r.)The album Baird, Łukaszewski, Błażewicz, Borkowski, featuring M. Borkowski Dies Irae with us singing the choir parts was awarded with Fryderyk Award in the category Best Polish Music Recording. It also received nomination in the category Best Contemporary Music Album. (17th April 2007)

Koncert "Oda do Radości""Ode to joy" concert, performed together with Japanese The MIDORI-KU Chorus of Yokohama City and Polish Radio Orchestra. Repertoire included Ludwig van Beethoven's 9th Symphony and Polish and Japanese folk songs. (The National Philharmonic Concert Hall, Warsaw, 15th april 2007)

 

Najpiękniejsze chóry i arie operowe (2006 r.)For our 85th anniversary we picked The Most Beautiful Opera Choirs and Arias including works of G. Bizet, G. Verdi, S. Moniuszko, P. Czajkowski and A. Borodin. Solo parts were sung by Jeanette Bożałek, Małgorzata Pańko, Krzysztof Chalimoniuk, Michał Janczak and Bartłomiej Matuszak. Orchestral parts were played by Polish Radio Orchestra. National Theatre choreographer Zofia Rudnicka's choreography was perfomed by Jeunesse Ballet Group. Concert was accompanied by an exhibition of Choir's photos from last five years. Grand Prix II Rybnickiej Jesieni ChóralnejGrand Prix for the best choir and the award for the best conductor in the second editon of Rybnik Choral Autumn held under the auspices of Henryk Mikołaj Górecki. (Rybnik, 27-29th October 2006)





Participation in the international Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina's festival in the Composer's home town near Rome. Amongst the participants were such choirs as The Hilliard Ensemble. (Palestrina - Rome, 4-12th October 2006)

"Plakat Stabat Mater Dolorosa"
"Stabat Mater Dolorosa" concert dedicated to the memory of Pope John Paul II. Accompanied by Polish Radio Orchestra and soloists Agnieszka Piass, Małgorzata Pańko and Witold Żołądkiewicz we performed pieces by Francis Poulenc, Antonin Dvořák and Karol Szymanowski. Karol Wojtyła's poems were read by actor Zbigniew Zamachowski. (Church of the Holy Cross, Warsaw, 31st March 2006)


Participation in the first in Warsaw performance of Leonard Bernstein's Candide. (Warsaw University of Technology, 25th March 2006)

In 2005 we were invited to take part in the 37th International Tolosa Choral Contest in Spain, where we had a chance to compete with the best choirs from around the world. (Spain, 27th October - 6th November 2005)

1st prize at the Hajnówka's Festival of Orthodox Music in the academic choirs category and award for the conductor, Irina Bogdanovitch. Our orthodox repertoire included: S. Rachmaninoff's Bogorodice dzjewo, P. Lwov's Wieczery Twojeja tajnyja and Nie otwierży mienie wo wremia starosti - concert by M. Berezowsky. 2nd prize at the Legnica Cantat 36 festival in the academic choirs category. Among performed pieces were J. S. Bach's Lobet den Herrn, G.P. da Palestrina's Exsultate Deo, A. Bruckner's Virga Jesse and J. Świder's Cantus Gloriosus. (Legnica, 20-22th May 2005)

We had the honour to perform with one of the finest Polish orchestras Sinfonia Varsovia and soloist: Bożena Harasimowicz, Robert Gierlach and Karol Kozłowski.  Koncert "Śpiewnik Polaka" for Polish Television with Górny Orchestra and the stars of the Polish stage. (Teatr Polski, Warsaw, 10th November 2004)

 A cappella concerts in Normandy as the part of the Polish Season in France Programme "Nova Polska 2004" (France, 1-14th July 2004)

 Koncert "Muzyka mistrzów" z wykonaniem "Missa Brevis D-dur" W.A.Mozarta i "Glorii" A. Vivaldiego wraz z Nową Orkiestrą Kameralną pod dyrekcją Iriny Bogdanovitch. (Kościół Ewangelicko-Reformowany, Warszawa, 15 maja 2004)

Aleksander Newski Film Show - Sergey Eisenstein's masterpiece screening along with Prokofiev's score performed live. This unique performance was first of its kind in Poland and one of very few in Europe.

 

As the original score was lost in Russia, we managed to reconstruct it ourselves and now we are a proud owners of one of the kind full orchestral score. (FOCUS Business Centre, Warsaw, 30th November 2003)

 



S. Prokofiev - Alexander Newsky Cantata and W. Kilar - Exodus - at the 300th anniversary of the city of Sankt-Petersburg (Russia). Performed with Sankt-Petersburg State University Choir and Sankt-Petersburg Philharmony Orchestra directed by Jerzy Maksymiuk. (Sankt-Petersburg Philharmony, 25th May 2003)
